Financial Controller

It's an exciting time to work at American Communications. Every day we improve telecommunication networks, helping to keep them connected cost-effectively and functioning well for the end-user. To keep up with our growing business, we are seeking an experienced Controller.

Primary responsibilities of the position are focused on financial management and team leadership responsibilities. Therefore, key responsibilities for this position include:

• 5-10 year proven track record successfully forecasting, projecting and managing of company’s business.
• Accumulate, summarize, and report GAAP financial results accurately and timely, reflecting the financial condition of the company
• Assure that policies and procedures are adhered to and achieved
• Responsible for the monthly and annual closing process
• Provide oversight guidance in analyzing financial data, including budget, actual, and forecasts, to resolve discrepancies and variances, and provide timely reconciliations of accounting information
• Review and implement strategies to identify and control costs
• Preparation and presenting of financial data and materials
• Preparation of monthly commission statements
• Oversee Human Resources department
• Oversee all Treasury functions including check signing and drawing funds against bank line, manage banking relationship
• Oversee annual financial audit and quarterly compilations
• Sales Tax Compliance, maintain insurance policies, coordinate annual tax returns

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Working knowledge of Great Plains products with desired and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software required
• 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred
• 3+ years prior Controller experience, or accounting/finance related job experience required
• 2+ years Supervisory and Review experience required as this position will oversee a staff of 4
